A Life In Games #1 - Dee!

Written by
Dee Lever

We've been enhancing play and empowering gamers for over 20 years. Our range of gaming accessories cover everything from headsets and grips to charging and storage, so we've got everything you need, whether you're just starting your video games journey or you've spent your whole life in front of consoles.

But what about the team behind it all? Well, we live and breathe gaming. When we're not bringing you our accessories, we're spending time gaming ourselves. So, we know just how magical and special gaming can be, and the impact video games can have on our lives.

With this in mind, we thought we'd draw back the curtain and introduce ourselves, so without further ado, welcome to our bi-weekly feature A Life In Games. First up is our Marketing Manager, Dee!

What's your name?

Dee.

What's your role at Venom Gaming?

Marketing Manager.

What does your typical day look like?

Every day is different! I spent a lot of time working on new product campaign plans and managing all the social content.

What's your earliest memory of gaming?

Playing Frogger on my PlayStation 1 - and Crash Bandicoot and Spyro!

What's your favourite game of all time?

I have so many but all for different reasons….

The Sims if I’m playing solo, COD if I’m playing online with pals (TDM and Zombies).

What game reminds you of your childhood?

A game called Petz 4. I used to run home from school, power up my PC and play with my virtual cats and dogs for hours. The other option would be Nintendogs on my Nintendo DS. There seems to be a virtual pet’s theme here!

What game is your happy place?

Not so much anymore, but I would probably say animal crossing. This game made me feel happy throughout lockdown when the world was not in the best place!

If you could make any game, what game would it be?

A VR GTA style game where you can steal cars, fly planes, and complete missions would be super cool!

What's your must-have gaming accessory?

100% a docking station. Couldn’t deal with having to change batteries on my controller every 5 mins.

And finally - PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo?

I feel loyal to PlayStation from my childhood days… but I’m afraid I’m now in the Xbox gang. Sorry Sony!
