All Announcements from Sony's State of Play January 2024

We got a peek into what we can expect from Sony in the coming year with the first State of Play of 2024, in just over 40 minutes Sony shared updated on over 15 games that are coming to PlayStation consoles soon ranging from PS5 exclusives to PSVR2 reveals. Highlights from the showcase includes brand new information

Hell Divers 2

Coming to PlayStation on the 8th February we got a look into the gameplay of Hell Divers 2 including a peek into the fighting mechanics, types of enemies and even a view of a walking suit with machines guns and other goodies attached that the player can wear.

Stellar Blade

We got to see deep dive into the gameplay of Stellar Blade, an upcoming action game from Shift Up, in this deep dive we meet Eve and her team as well as the post-apocalyptic Earth that the game is set in. Clips within this gameplay trailer includes a huge city wherein Eve can stock up on supplies, pick up side missions and much more, we also see examples of the games combat against various monsters and boss fights.

You can get your hands on Stellar Blade on the 26th April 2024.

Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sonic's back for yet another adventure and will be joined by Shadow in this all new version of 2010's Sonic Generations. An official release date is yet to be announced but you'll be able to grab the game this Autumn.

Zenless Zone Zero

Up next in the showcase was Zenless Zone Zero, a free-to-play game from Hoyoverse that is currently in development.

Foamstars

Square Enix had a new trailer of the soon to be released game Foamstars to share during the showcase in which they showed off some characters in the game.

Dave The Diver Godzilla

Coming in May this year Dave The Diver has a whole new beast of the deep blue to contend with when he comes to PlayStation.

V Rising

Originally released on PC back in 2022 it was revealed in this State of Play that V Rising will be coming to PlayStation 5 in 2024.

Silent Hill The Short Message

Silent Hill is back and as creepy looking as ever with this new free to play game - Silent Hill The Short Message is available now.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

There's even more coming for Silent Hill fans with the announcement of a Silent Hill 2 Remake being in development for PS5 - in the announcement we see the familiar face of James Sunderland but there's no information on a release date as of yet.

Judas

The next game of the showcase was Judas, a brand new first person shooter set in a city called Mayflower that has been set adrift in space. There's no mention of a release date just yet with just a "Now in Development" message flashing up on screen.

Metro Awakening VR

Announced for a 2024 release date Metro Awakening will be coming to PSVR2 for the first time. In terms of the Metro franchise timeline this game will sit just before the events of Metro 2033 and you play as Serdar as he attempts to find his wife in the dark tunnels.

Legendary Tales

Legendary Tales is another title launching on PSVR2 this year - this first person medieval fantasy game is set to launch on the 8th February so fans will be pleased to hear it's not too long to wait.

Dragon's Dogma 2

Live your ultimate open-world fantasy life in Dragon's Dogma 2 which is set to be released on 22nd March this year.

Rise Of The Ronin

The announcement everyone was waiting for came near the end of the showcase. The PS5 exclusive Rise of The Ronin is a new open-world samurai game from Team Ninja and throughout the trailer we got to see the combat style, the traversal method and an insight into the games story which will allow players to impact the world around them through the choices they make along the way.

Until Dawn

It's time for one of everyone's favourite horror adventure games to get a remaster - Until Dawn, the 2014 PS exclusive, will officially be launching later this year.

Death Standing 2: On The Beach

The final announcement from Sony's January State of Play was for Death Stranding 2 - now known officially as "Death Stranding 2: On The Beach" - we see some familiar faces including Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges along with Sam's brother Leo
