Animal Crossing New Horizons
It's all anyone is talking about at the moment, but for a good reason. The latest Animal Crossing game has all the escapism we need. Cute characters, a remote island, and all the butterflies you could ever want to catch. The game's features allow you to build, create and personalise your very own paradise.
Ori and the Blind Forest
Simply put, this game is one of the most beautiful around - filled with puzzles and platform levels, you're sure to be taken on a whirlwind journey. And when you're finished, there's a sequel too.
The Sims 4
We've lost count of the hours we've put into Sims games over the years. Whether you have the most fun building, creating Sims or working your way up the career ladder, it's refreshing to play a game where the everyday still feels normal! You can add to the fun with a wide range of expansion packs and download items from the player gallery, too.
There's something really therapeutic about growing crops and tilling the land in Stardew Valley. It has a similar feel to the older Animal Crossing games, but is available on PC with plenty of mods.
Released in 2017, Rime is an adventure puzzle game in which you're guided by a spirit (a fox) through various levels. The soundtrack is soothing and the visuals are a vista of calm blue and white. We hope that our rundown of the most calming and relaxing games we've been playing helps you to chill out and escape for a while!
